  4. 1/2 tsp saunf

  9. 1 cup boiled tuar dal
  10. 1 medium size onion roughly chopped
  11. 2 medium size tomato roughly chopped
  12. 2-3 tbsp coriander chopped
  13. 2 green chillies chopped
  14. Small piece of ginger
  15. 5-6 garlic cloves
  16. 2 cloves
  17. 3-4 black pepper corn
  18. 1 small stick of cinnamon
  19. 1 tsp jeera
  20. 1/2 tsp haldi powder
  21. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  22. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  23. 1 tsp amchur powder
  24. 1/2 tsp sugar
  25. to taste Salt
  26. 1 tbsp ghee
  27. Ingredients for baingan bharta
  28. 1/2 kg baingan (roasted and peeled)
  29. 1 tsp jeera
  30. 1 elaichi
  31. 1 small stick cinnamon
  32. 1 bay leaf
  33. 2 cloves
  34. 3-4 black pepper corns
  35. 1 tsp grated ginger
  36. 1 green chilli finely chopped
  37. 1 medium sized onion finely chopped
  38. 3-4 garlic cloves crushed
  39. 1/2 tsp haldi powder
  40. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  41. 1 tsp coriander powder
  42. 1 medium sized tomato finely chopped

  45. 1 tbsp oil
  46. chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions to make to make Dal Baati

  1. In a big mixing bowl, add all the ingredients of making baati and knead the dough using warm water.
  2. Rest it for 10 minutes.
  3. Then take small portion of dough and make baati with light hands..bake it in oven at 160° for 15-20 mins..then flip it and bake for more 8-10 mins..dip baati in melted ghee before serving 😊
  4. Now for making dal, dry roast whole spices and grind into a fine powder.keep it aside.
  5. Take tomatoes, green chillies, ginger, onion, garlic and coriander in a mixer jar and grind it in a smooth paste.
  6. Heat ghee in a pan add jeera and whole spices powder cook it for few seconds then add masala paste cook for 5-6 minutes on low medium flame.
  7. Now add haldi, red chilli powder, garam masala, amchur powder and sugar..cook for more 4-5 minutes.
  8. Add boiled and mashed dal, salt and water according to the consistency you want.
  9. Cook for 2-3 minutes garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Now for making baingan bharta, heat oil in a pan..add jeera and whole spices, onion, garlic, green chilli and grated ginger..cook for few minutes or till the onion turns golden brown.
  11. Then add in all the spices and chopped tomato.
  12. Cook till tomato gets soft and oil starts seperating the sides of masala.
  13. Then add methi leaves, mashed baingan and salt.
  14. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  15. Serve hot hot dal baati baingan bharta along with pickle and some salad.
