  14. garlic 1 tablespoon chopped

  18. For Bati:
  19. 1 cup whole wheat flour
  20. 5 tablespoons semolina
  21. 2 tablespoons ghee
  22. 1 teaspoon salt
  23. 1/2 teaspoon carrom seeds
  24. 1/2 cup milk
  25. water for kneading dough if needed
  26. ghee 1/2 cup for dipping battis
  27. 1 chopped onion
  28. lemon wedges
  29. 4 green chillies

Steps to make to make Rajasthani Dal Bati

  1. Put soaked moong dal into pressure cooker and add water.
  2. Add salt to this.
  3. Add turmeric powder.
  4. Add ghee to dal.
  5. Add green chillies and ginger.
  6. Add red chilli powder.
  7. Close the pressure cooker and cook till5 whistles.
  8. After 5 whistles open lid and cook on low flame for 10 mintues. Add water if needed.
  9. Now we temper the dal. Put ghee in a pan add garlic, ginger, saute for 2 minutes and add chopped onion, cook till golden. Add chopped tomatoes and cook till ghee separates from it.
  10. Add garam masala to it and pour it over dal. Your dal is ready to serve. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  11. For making battis mix flour and semolina.
  12. Add ghee to it.
  13. Add salt to it.
  14. Add carrom seeds and milk.
  15. Make a fine smooth dough.add water if needed.
  16. Set aside for 10 mintues.
  17. After 10 mintues knead the dough properly so that dough can become smooth.
  18. Now divide this dough into small pieces. And make small balls.
  19. Put these balls into preheated tandoor.
  20. Cook for 10 mintues. Check after 5 minute and turn the side.
  21. After this break the battis and dip into the melted ghee.
  22. Now your battis are also ready to serve.
  23. Your dal bati is ready. Serve it with chopped onion, lemon wedges, and green chilli.
